Trailer Park Queen by John Bouton
Aging exotic dancer Lurleen Hornswoggle’s life is upended when her sister, Madison Davis, returns home from Beverly Hills, penniless. Sharing a trailer with their pill-popping, alcoholic mother and Lurleen’s twin teenage children fathered by her cousins, the two sisters must navigate their new dynamic while dealing with strippers, aliens, and corrupt police. From Lurleen’s dream of appearing on the Kelly Clarkson show to brother-in-law J.D.’s alien encounters, this film proves that you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the girl.
Blending blue-collar comedy with a touch of drama, "Trailer Park Queen" explores themes of class, family loyalty, and the pursuit of dreams. With sharp wit and southern charm, the film paints a vivid picture of life in the margins, where sisterhood proves stronger than any setback.
The writer, John Bouton cut his teeth in show business overseeing cue cards for a variety of television productions, working with talent such as Lucille Ball, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, and Sting. This led to John’s longstanding collaboration with Milton Berle, writing material for personal appearances and roasts, while also performing his own standup act and appearing in commercials. As Producer, Writer, Director, and Editor for Little Red Phoenix Productions, John created multiple spec pilots for network consideration and created music videos for environmental groups. His work has earned him a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award Nomination and a CableAce Nomination for the comedy/variety program "Telecomedia." John also partnered with Gabe Abelson, former head writer for David Letterman, to create and produce comedy sketches and bits for the political comedy website "Our Country.” John comes by his blue-collar comedy honestly; his hometown in the Mississippi Delta was so small, the local hooker was a virgin… and had the only red light in town. John himself was recently kidnapped by aliens...he was proked, prodded, and probed. he's going back next week.
