WHAT’S AILING SPENCER FRAYLEY - by Michael Werwie

When a hypochondriac thinks he may be a serial killer he begins to act like one.

Spencer Frayley believes he has every illness he hears about or sees on television. Late night commercials are wet dreams for people like Spencer. While searching for a medica book, Spencer comes across a book on serial killers. He starts to identify with their

characteristics no matter how absurd they are. They killed animals as a child, and he killed insects but to Spencer it’s the same. Spencer begins to take on mannerisms of these serial killers and plots to make his first kill. Will he follow through?

Writer Michael Werwie is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His original screenplay Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019) won a 2012 Nicholl Fellowship.
