Back in the USSR written by John Bouton
In Leningrad during the Soviet era, American professor David Garin gets involved with the underground rock band "No Bullsheviks," led by Yuri Siletsky. Together, they challenge the regime through subversive music, despite constant surveillance by the KGB under Colonel Volkov. David's life intertwines deeply with Yuri’s through their shared passion for change and his blossoming romance with Irena, a fellow professor caught in the struggle.
In a desperate bid for freedom, David and Irena, aided by an army of Russian Rock and Rollers, attempt a daring escape to Finland, leaving behind a legacy that inspires continued resistance within the Soviet Union. This story of love, art, and rebellion highlights the transformative power of music against oppression.
